Also to ya'll that is complaining about the FLAGMAN maybe you need to stand up and say something to him instead of on here, and he did announce that at the drivers meeting last night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is also true, he did announce that and that if anyone had any kind of problem with anyone associated with the track to go and talk to that person. Guys lets face it we are not in this to make money we are in it for the fun and sure a big purse would be great and yes i to have had some complaints but the bottom line is go talk to the individual that can handle it not on here and we should all just be glad to have a place to race. I raced asphalt for several years and the BIR track is no longer and the Nashville Fairgrounds track is in jeopardy so we should all be thankful so lets all quit complaining on here and race and have fun. cody, you are right in your thoughts but the reality is that theres fear of retaliation in talking to some track personnel/. I got d.q.ed last year for rough driving(rightfully so) but I didnt even wreck the guy I just turned him and let him get straight and back ahead of me, then I tagged him pretty hard at the finish line . I apologized after but was guilty nevertheless. my point is that he was a flagman fav and was taken care of( I've seen much worse driving already this year and no d.q. for it yet. So sometimes you dont want to stick your headout too far. now as far as talking to the ingrams about payouts there will only be one method to address it and other issues stated here, we really need to establish a drivers board and elect officers to address the owners/track officials as authorized spoksepersons for all the drivers and empower them to police the drivers behavior as well without waiting on the track to chose. if done properly this would not cause the owners of the track to lose any control but would be a positive forum and a tool to help them FAIRLY manage the operations . Imagine having a drivers rep and a member of track mgmnt to discuss and arbitrate problems.

I think some of the retired guys would be a great place to chose these board members. Like alan revis or others who have been there and have 1st hand knowledge.

oh and btw I do want to be paid and paid a reasonable amount, yeah I do it for the adrenaline rush and my ego but it takes money to build, maintain, and transport these cars.

All good ideas, this would be great. I do like the money as well but I look at it like this 1) In asphalt racing we spent 600 to 800 per race for our sportsman car which is equivalent to a thunder car and that was weekly or bi weekly how ever often we raced and we raced for 300 to 400 depending on what track we went to. So with my dirt car i spend around 100 to 200 and race for 150 to 300 hell that is way better already. 2) If we were obsessed with golf instead of racing we would by new clubs every year or so and every time a new driver came out we would buy it at 300 to 500 dollars and then pay green fees of 50 to 150 dollars and not get a darn thing back so you see it aint so bad after all. Now I think your ideas are great and maybe that is what we as drivers need to try but getting on here and dogging the track is doing nothing but hurting ourselves because believe it or not people from other tracks read this and think that we are reckless and have no sense and they dont want to come race at the track, but if we got on here and said the good thing about the track and they saw that they would come on down and join in on the fun. See my point there is a time and place for everything and this is not either of those so lets not air anymore dirty laundry and lets try to build the track up and get the car counts up and guess what ?? Problem solved if the cars come so will your money. JMO Have a great day CODY BROWNING

WTG Cody, I agree with you Cody and mudslinger, but it is going to take people like you (Cody) to get together and ask about this. I know when you ( Cody) have had a question about something you go to the person that needs to handle it and this is way it should be done. But as far as having a board would be a great idea but all ya'll can do is get enough together out of different classes and see what the owners say, you never know they might think that will help and be all for it. I also agree it should be older people and that is not a driver, and knows about racing. Ya'll need to try to talk to other people and see what they think then ya'll need to go to the right people with this.

ok i have been reading this for a week.since this is a place for everyone to voice their opinions this is mine.first of all NIKKI,you keep telling the drivers that all the money the track has left at the end of the year is from selling 50/50,ok what about all the money from admissions, consessions, drivers and people to help them and their cars.second of all, when the officials say something at the drivers meeting about "they will not put up with rough driving"why do they put up with it then?third i have been there several times and everytime i leave from there there was something i did not like so was disappointed.my husband brought his car down there last weekend and was takin out in the heat race so yeah disappointing especially for those who dont have the money to tear their cars up every week.maybe shelby county speedway will change and maybe they will get a better car count but i dont see it happening in the near future.i am so sorry for alll the drivers.........

there is no reason that the drivers shouldnt get better pay. they are out there putting their lives on the line every time they roll over that hill onto the track in turn 2..NO MATTER HOW YOU LOOK AT IT. If this racetrack had a scale (and a policy) as the same as Talladega and Green Valley, and Phoenix City(if you start the main, you AT LEAST get your entry fee back.), I am positive 80-95 cars would be there every week, and thats dang good for this place. in my encounters last year, i heard it through the small little grapevine that runs over there that this track made over $300,000 PROFIT...keyword PROFIT. so there is NO WAY IN HECK that a better payscale cant be established, to where your drivers would continue to show and enjoy the place. As far as the issue with the rough driving, if the track would hire in an OUTSIDE GROUP OF OFFICIALS, that has never seen these drivers run, and somebody that knows how to tech a racecar PROPERLY.....I am 100% sure that most problems and issues would be solved and wouldnt be presenting themselves every week, and they wouldnt have to JACK UP GATE PRICES to have extra security in the pits. run at several facilities in this state/area, and every person that has a thought about this track that I talk to has somthing NEGATIVE to say, because of how poorly they see the show ran. 99% of them say that having a dang 15-20 minute intermission to play freakin GAMES....IS REDICULOUS. I guarantee you that if this place would step up and become a nesmith sanctioned track to run TRUE CRATES every week, we would have MORE THAN 4 OR 5 CRATES show up to run with us, because the ones that are back of the pack running cars at TST, GVS, and EAMS would come so they could have better chances at being higher in the regional rankings. That would get the car counts up, make more money come in, and have better payouts for all, because other cars in ot erh divisions will follow their buddies and run with them..as well as 5-7 people coming in with a respective car.

Also, the racing surface that I have raced on is very well maintained. It is one of the better surfaces that I have ever driven on in my 30 year career. Its just it is a poorly ran show. I am getting close to hanging my helmet up, and i wouldnt mind running a race or two over there again before i park it for the final time....but until I see, hear and KNOW that the show is better ran..I will run elsewhere

Like I have said before time and time again, this bashing the track is doing nothing but hurting us.IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM TAKE IT UP WITH THAT PERSON. DON'T HIDE BEHIND THE COMPUTER GO TALK TO THEM. I have James phone numbers so if you need to you can get intouch with me and I'll get you hooked up with him. I am sure that he doesn't appreciate people talking behind his back and on this forum so go to him. Why not try to help us and not hurt us. If you need to heck you can call me and i will see if we can get with the right people and you can ask your questions but please quit bashing the place because like I said before be glad we have it to race at. As far as the he said she said and through the grapevine it could or could not be true so call James and ask him, he is only a man and most of these people complaining are men so man up and talk to the man face to face. JMO CODY BROWNING 205-337-8695 call if you need to get the numbers or pm me here P.S. This is starting to get ridiculous
