i think fridays might work, who knows. i raced fridays the first 2 years i raced and the car count was the about the same as it is now, maybe more because you had cars come from other tracks than tst that run saturdays. (hmm.... nobody thought about that, did ya'll???). if dennis wasn't a buisnessman trying to better the track he wouldn't do it, like the old saying whats the use in buying watermelons for a dollar and sellin em for a dollar, you gotta do something differnt to get ahead. sorry to get on a soapbox but kinda annoying that every post by certain people is negative and they know who they are.
oh 14jracing the stampede class is Mod,Pure, and Hot shots all together and scored seperate. the rules bout it are on the GVS site

we feel the same way friday night nearly rules us out totally, and the class combining will not work expecially in super street with hobby cars it would be caution after caution!!!!! lap cars in way!!!!

I would not complain if I were a hobby guy! The alternitive to running with super hobbys is the hobby class being deleted. Which is worse? Running with the supers and being scored differently or the class being cut out and having to race the supers, not being scored different and getting beat every week by being out classed.

ok but i thought the test dennis did last season with combineing classes was ruled out in the future thats what he said any how but i agree 20 cars at a time is more fun for the fans but the owners that dont have the monies for bigger motors and such are at a lost plus the wrecks will increase and so will the out of pocket expense .but again we will support gvs as long as we can jmo

the hobby class will be 3 link before long anyway he has already changed the rules! but we can all go to fortpayne and when he changes back who is gonna want to lose their points at fotpayne??by the way i talk to some top running teams at gv in crate, sportsman and hobby and its not looking good for gv!! and they all say the same they are not gonna leave the points they get at another track i know for a fact of 6 teams that will not be there so add that to this list of folks

i disagree with gvs changing to friday nights because some of my friends that race there and i will not be able to make it because we all work at night. So i guess we will be heading to fort payne this year.

i do not like them going to friday night will make it hard to run there because of work but the idea of them running hobby and super street at the same time i do not like it do not run the open wheels there was like 3 to 4 of them there so let the hobbys run there own race then let the super streets run there own and let the hot shots and pure pony run there race and the mod ponys have there own race and you still would be done by a good time still

Guys you need to look at this Friday night thing from Dennis's point. He has no one in the stands. All our purse money comes in the back gate or out of his pocket, so he needs to pickup the front gate in order to keep the back gate fees down. The only other options are to decrease the purse or shut down. I agree with 11j (Josh I think) when we ran on Friday nights we had just as good a car count as we do now. If you have already decided to run at the mountain then run there. Marvin is a good guy and I am sure he will work with the Hobby guys on the rules, but if you can run Friday please come on down. Our team is glad to see it go to Friday because it leaves us the option to run at other tracks on saturday or take off the rest of the weekend. The latter keeps our wives happy so we can go play.

i have a suggest to gvs on putting more people in the stands do more advertising in newpapers (more than the local one) like maybe a 3-5 county area, radio, magizines like the buy sell and others im sure it would help get more fans in old and new if they knew about the track heck even put one on jocks 94.5 its heard all over the state nothing but sports talk radio.i know it will cost a few $$$ but in the long run it will pay for its self. jmo

Well,Personally I don't like it cause I work Friday 2:30P to 3AM and won't be able to go to any races.Nuts.Track wise.It might help with people in the stands if it doesn't kill the attendance in the pits.Kinda a double edged sword. It can help or it can hurt.Only way to find out is to do it and if it works keep it.If it doesn't do anything or tanks then go back to saturday. As for the advertising.I agree 100% there.Spend the money, get the word out.I might see 1 or 2 ads a month durring full blown race season. That includes TV,Radio(ok,hear not see),News paper,Magazines,Buy/sell,etc.I can't even count the people that STILL think Greenvalley is still a Drag strip or is a cow pasture now(Closed and bulldozed).Must have been 100 people last year and most are LOCAL.

Freighttrain, I agree with getting the word out. I remember when we would have a car show at the first of the season at the Mall. I don't know if can do that now but it would be nice to do something like that at the first of the season before we get them bent up ,maybe along with a radio promo.

p.s. man those are mean hours

gregg that is an awesome idea i truly believe if gv would try this 3 times during the season and offer points for going they would be packed on saturday nights but i dont think right now is the time becuase friday nights just will not work, but do it on a saturday night racing scedule and i believe it would be a miracle worker
