Tim, I was wondering if they're could be a rule for every car to have a overflow jug or bottle for their radiator. Just for the safety of drivers. There was a car at the Ground hog that was running hot and had a hose ran out the back of the car and the water was going all over the driver behind him.

I know what car you are talking about, and the water was steaming and vaporised before it got to the driver behind him. I talked with that driver and he said it never bothered him. Even NASCAR does not require and overflow tank, it just need to be beyond the drivers cockpit. A lot drivers have the overflow hose where they see if it starts steaming, because some times that catches their eye before the gauge does.

swingblade made a good point. I know on our car the over flow pipe always ran out the hood on to the passanger side door, to where my dad could see it when it got to steaming. I never thought about it actually making it to the car behind them, of coarse never knowed that it would evaperate before it got to the driver behind them.

Tim which driver did you talk to you. I think we are talking about 2 different drivers. I under stand nascar doesn't require it but remember we are talking about dirt cars. Nascar has the whole back of the car covered. Anyhow if the hose is before the driver that's not as bad. It's shooting up more in the air. But this car i'm talking about was coming straight out the rear. It was distracting the driver big time. Also if it wasn't so cold it would of burnt the dirvers neck cause he wouldn't of had any thing covering his neck.
