USCS Winged Springs - LMs - Thurs. night
This was the worst show I have even been too - even worse than the crap at Cherokee.
I arived about 6:30, and at 10:30 I has seen exactly 12 laps of racing. This is fan abuse. The Winged sprint cars get four laps per minute, so they had raced about 90 seconds. Actually, the flagman (or some idiot in the tower) threw a red flag - stopping every car - when a car went over the bank in turn two (but kept going and was back on the backstretch by the time the flag came out). This means all of the cars have to be push-started again, so this six laps took a long time.
About 10:30, and the track already a dust bowl, and the Winged cars heat races were approaching, the water truck made three laps. The sprint cars got on the track, but decided it was too wet?? So the fan abuse continued, as they waited, and then did the LM feature. Finally, this abused fan got 25 laps of pretty good racing.
But the track was again a dust bowl.
After more time wasting, the sprint feature got started about 11:30. The dust was so bad families were leaving.
A decent sprint car race, but it would have been 200% better if the track and USCS had moved a little faster and got the feature started about 10:00.
They cancelled the spring heat races, and added five laps to the feature. Unfortunately, some sprinkles came about lap 25, and the show was over at lap 27.
Worst show I've ever seen - a waste of a lot of time and $20 - and I'll never go back.
If this track cannot prepare a track with enough moisture for two 25-lappers, they need to get some help (I suggest contacting Mickey Swims at Dixie)
If they cannot get more than 12 laps run in four hours (and 62 laps in 5 hours, 30 min.), they need to buy a clock.
I'm voting with my dollars: NEVER AGAIN.
