Bart Hartman Celebrates Memorial Day with Midway Victory!
(ZANESVILLE, OHIO) Bart Hartman and his #75 team entered a trio of Dirt
Late Model events over the busy Memorial Day holiday weekend and walked away
with one victory and two additional Top Ten performances! Bart was able to
celebrate Memorial Day in style, as he claimed the checkers on Monday, May
28 at the Midway Speedway in Crooksville, Ohio. The driver known as the
"Bartman" won his heat race and rolled off from the outside of the front row
for the Sunoco American Late Model Series (ALMS) main event. Bart led
nearly all of the A-Main after a mid-race battle with Rick Aukland to pick
up the $2,000 payday!
Earlier in the weekend, Bart was in action at both the Skyline Speedway in
Stewart, Ohio and the Muskingum County Speedway in Zanesville, Ohio. On
Friday at Skyline, Bart won his heat race and finished fifth in the dash
prior to the Mid-Atlantic Championship Series (MACS) main event. After a
wrong tire selection, Bart found himself credited with a respectable eighth
place effort in the $5,000 to win event. On Saturday, Muskingum County
played host to a $5,000 to win Independent Racing Series (IRS) show. Bart
once again won his heat race prior to finishing sixth in the 50-lap A-Main
at his hometown venue.
"We had a good car all weekend, but especially at Midway on Monday," quoted
Bart his week via telephone. "Our car was strong at both Skyline and
Zanesville too over the weekend, but we just hurt ourselves on tire
selection. However, we were able to win all three heat races and run up
front each night, so I am happy with the performance of both the car and our
entire race team right now. Hopefully, we can keep it up heading into
Florence this weekend and then the Dream."
The Bart Hartman Racing team will be back in action this Saturday night at
the venerable Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky. The Lucas Oil Late
Model Dirt Series will sanction the annual 'Ralph Latham Memorial' and a
$10,000 top prize is up for grabs. A complete show will be on tap Saturday,
June 2 at the Cincinnati area venue and will be highlighted by a 50-lap
feature event, which will be taped by the cameras of the SPEED Channel for
viewing later in the year. Bart is a former winner of the historic event,
as he took the checkers back in 1998. You can learn more about this show
