Damon Eller Notches Pair of Sixth Place Finishes at Columbus!
(CRUMPLER, NORTH CAROLINA) The Independence Lumber Racing team invaded the
Columbus Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi on March 9-10 for the annual
'Rebel Challenge.' Damon Eller was very successful at the "Baddest Bullring
in the South," as he was able to notch a pair of sixth place performances at
Columbus over the weekend. On Friday evening, Damon won his qualifying race
before finishing sixth in the $2,000 to win A-Main. On Saturday, March 10,
the Crumpler, North Carolina native qualified well and rolled off eighth for
the 50-lap, $10,000 to win 'Rebel Challenge.' After fifty green flag racing
laps, Damon found himself credited with another sixth place finish behind
winner Don O'Neal, Steve Francis, Shannon Babb, Clint Smith, and Shane

"Damon ran very well over the weekend at Columbus," commented team owner
Randall Eller today via telephone. "We were able to qualify well both
nights and that set us up to be successful during the feature events.
Hopefully, we can continue to run strong and get Damon some valuable
experience before the Lucas Oil Series starts back up on March 31 at
Brownstown."
Damon and his #I4 team will be back in action this coming weekend, as they
will compete in a trio of Dirt Late Model events. The North Georgia
Speedway in Chatsworth, Georgia will be stop one this weekend, as a $3,000
to win, unsanctioned event is on tap at the northern Georgia oval on Friday
night, March 16. The annual 'Shamrock 60' will then take place at the
Cleveland Speedway in Cleveland, Tennessee on Saturday evening, March 17. A
$7,500 payday is up for grabs in the 60-lap main event, which will be
sanctioned by the O'Reilly Southern Allstars Series. The ultra-busy
tripleheader weekend will then conclude on Sunday with the running of a
$3,000 to win Advance Auto Parts Thunder Series show at the Tazewell
