Super Late Models and Mini Sprints Headline April 29th Event!
Columbus, MS – The next event at Columbus Speedway will be on this Saturday night April 29th featuring the return of the Commercial Dispatch Super Late Model division as part of the Columbus Speedway Weekly Racing Series on a weekly basis along with a visit from the O’Reilly United Mini Sprint Association plus all local divisions.
The 2006 Columbus Speedway event schedule has been updated to reflect the addition of the Commercial Dispatch Super Late Model division back as part of the weekly show at Columbus Speedway. The April 29th event will see Super Late Models compete in a 20-lap main event paying at least $1,000 to win. Other contingencies already in place include a $100 Pole Award from Cooley Transport and 78 Towing, plus a $100 bonus to win with a Brown Engineering power plant.
The O’Reilly United Mini Sprints will be making their first appearance at Columbus Speedway in over 3 year on April 29th as well and are expected to bring a strong contingent of drivers from across the Mid-South as the Winged Sprint Cars are known for putting on a great show for the fans.
All other Columbus Speedway local divisions will be in action including the Open Wheel Modifieds and Late Model Stocks in a 20-lap main events plus Mini Stocks, Street Stocks, Stormpay Late Models, Cruisers and Hot Shots.
Fans and participants should also make note to visit the new Columbus Engine and Crank Shaft Pit Concession and also making its debut on April 29th will be the new Funnel Cake stand behind the grandstand near the entrance that will feature ice cold Pepsi products, fresh funnel cakes, and peanuts.
Event information has grandstand gates opening at 5pm with racing at 7:00pm. Adult grandstand admission is $12 with children 10 and under old admitted free. Active Military and students ages 11 to 18 are admitted for $8. Pit passes are $25. Lawn chairs and coolers are welcome in the grand stands. Pit gates open at 4pm with the driver’s meeting at 6:00pm with hot laps to follow.
