Tennessee-Georgia Raceway Reopening as Boyd's Speedway

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- Tennessee-Georgia Raceway is reborn under the name that really never went away, Boyd's Speedway. New owner, George Shaw, along with his daughter Mandy Greene (a former Pony Stock driver), are inviting fans, pit crew, and those who are just curious to come out and join the effort on one or both of two Cleanup Days: Fri., Mar. 30 and Sat., Mar. 31 starting at 8:00 a.m.
Those who pitch in will be treated to a free lunch and race teams who volunteer will gain free entrance for the first Playday Sun., April 1, from 1:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. Eastern. Grandstand admission will be free on Playday and pit passes will be $10.00 per person.
The first night of racing is Fri., April 13, with hot laps beginning around 6:30 and heat races around 7:00, track conditions permitting.
Boyd's Speedway has adopted the 2007 Cleveland Speedway rules (go to http://www.clevelandspeedway.com). Classes will be Limited Late Model, A Hobby, B Hobby (formerly Street Stock), Pony Stock, and Front Runner.
While admittedly getting off to a late start for the Innaugural Season, Mr. Shaw wants to assure fans and racers alike he has every intention of returning The Old Girl to a condition worthy of "The Name That Wouldn't Die," Boyd's Speedway!!
Its not that we don't love SLM"s, its all about time constraints .
Catoosa County requires us to stop racing by 11p.m, and since we race on Friday's it's hard to get an earlier start due to fans and racers having to work that day.
