its ok if you lose to a good driver but we all know most cars that win at wgs r not even close to the rules. not to say any names but i know in pure mini more then 5 cars could win in mod mini. pure stock is a low budget class that now cost more to run then a hobby car. if wgs was a real dirt track thay would not let this go on most tracks will not let this go on

wgs is a moter track not a driver track. i went there 4 times last year and could not keep up with the top 4 cars. i know two of them cars have been to dixie and both went a lap down.this past weekend at emas not one car that runs wgs made it to the big race. keep stock class stock and you will have a bitter race. the group i race with would like to go to wgs as it only takes us 15 min to get there rather then the hour and a half we drive to dixie or sometimes even hollis. when a driver wins by more then half a lap over 2nd that dont make him a good driver it just means he can cheat better then the rest. you see a track that is run right would pull a valve cover on any car that wins by half a lap. I dont win alot at dixie but i know i lost to a better driver not not a better moter.

I dont win alot at dixie but i know i lost to a better driver not not a better moter. I quoted that in red, because that is a good point. But off the top of my head I can not recall any driver (driving the same car they race at Whitesburg) making it to a feature at any other track. I have traveled alot with racrs and went to alot of the top local races and I cann't think of any driver off hand that has made it to the feature and actually started the race. Another point that I always liked to point out too, is when whitesburg held the 40 lap races. Alot of the weekly winners in several classes didn't finish the race because their cars would not hold up to do 40 laps. But the point the racers always complained about was the "Outside GUYS" coming in an taking their money. If your car is not built to race in high performance races ( a race with more than the normal number of laps, of coarse you NEVER KNEW how many laps you are going to run at whitesburg, LOL!) then let ones who do race it. That is why alot of people spend the BIG BUCKS geting everything they pay for so they don't have to work on their cars every weekend. I know a guy that he raced the top 3 every weekend at EAMS, he spent ALOT of $$$ to have his car built to where it would stand racing weekly. He would race, finish in the top 3 and before the next week he would just change the oil and check normal wear and tare stuff. We went to the State or Nationals one weekend and we all just walked around looking at others cars, b/c he knew his car was race ready when he got to the track. Can't remember where he finished that year but he does have alot of BIG trophies still sitting in his shop today.

This is exactly what kind of talk that it takes to run a track down. Call me whatever you want to. I expect it. Dan

West Ga has earned the reptutation it has.............. there are a lot of reasons for this, but the main reason is because the fans & drivers put up with it and don't seem to want anything to change.................... as long as people continue to come back every week and continue to pay their money why should the track change anything.............the only way things will change is if the fans and drivers let the owner or promoter that they are tired of the sme ole dog and pony show and they are going to go somewhere else with their money until something changes.......
we used to come to West Ga a few years ago with anywhere from 3 to 6 cars every week........... but after getting either called wrong by the tech man who was related to some of the other racers or wrecked on the track we decided it was more cost effective to go somewhere else............. all we like is to be treated fair in tech and to be paid fair............ $50 for 5th place in a $1000 to win race is far from fair...........
as i said at the first of this post.....West Ga has earned the reputation it has and will continue to have it until the fans and drivers insist on changes be made before they spend any more of their hard earned money there.
