Super Late Models Return To Green Valley Speedway This Friday
Glencoe, Alabama (04/28/10) – This Friday, April 30th Green Valley Speedway in Glencoe, Alabama will welcome back the ground-pounding Super Late Models in an event that could see the winner take home up to $2,000.
Last Friday night, a Weekly Racing Series Event was on tap, but shortly after heat races were completed, rain set in forcing the postponement of the balance of the program to this Friday, April 30th.
The feature events from last week will be run this week, and new entries are welcome, but will have to tag the back of the feature grid. The Crate Late Model, Limited Late Model, Super Street, Hobby Stock, Stampede, and Cruiser divisions will all run their feature event this Friday night
In addition, the Super Late Models have been added to this Friday’s show and will run a complete program sponsored by Delux Performance Racing Products. The feature event will pay $1,500 to win plus a “King of the Jungle” challenge event will be held, which will post a $500 winner’s share plus $300 for second and $200 for third. As a result, a Super Late Model driver could win $2,000 for his efforts on Saturday night.
At intermission there will parent’s and kid’s bike and foot races. Bicycle riders must have a helmet to participate. Senior citizens foot races will be held as well, and the first ten children, who get their parents or grandparents to participate in a foot race will receive a free Green Valley t-shirt. All winners of the bike and foot races will receive a free ride in the Green Valley Speedway Two-Seater Super Late Model.
Grandstand and pit pass rain checks from last week’s program can be used this week or at any event up through the May 21st racing program. In addition, Green Valley Speedway will honor rainout stubs from last Friday’s program at Talladega Short Track. For each $20 ticket stub, you will four grandstand admission tickets to Green Valley Speedway. Two of these tickets may be used this Friday, April 30th, and the other two may be used any Friday night during the course of the 2010 season at Green Valley speedway.
For anyone not holding a rain check, the normal admission prices will apply. Grandstand admission is $10 for adults 17 year of age and older. Children 16 years of age and younger are free with a paying adult. A special offer is on the table this week as well for anyone, who wants to carpool to the races. Any vehicle that has three people in it will receive admission for $25 ($5 savings), and any additional spectators past three in any given vehicle will receive $5 admission.
Pit admission is $25 for ages 17 and older and $10 for ages 5 years to 16 years. Ages 4 and under are free. All drivers entered will receive a free ATV pass.
