Buzz Division Invades CAMS
Clanton, AL (April 3, 2010) – The racing facilities at Central Alabama Motor Speedway started filling with fans and cars early evening with anticipation of a night of dirt track racing. Like in the early days of racing, fans wanted to see action packed racing along with hotdogs and peanuts.
One of the larger divisions of the evening was the Eagles Auto Sales Buzz Car Division. CAMS would see new drivers and faces at the track. There were two new drivers that had never raced on dirt and made the swap from Asphalt and are now hooked on Dirt. After two heat races of the Buzz Cars the field was set for the feature event. The green flag was in the air directly in front of the flag stand instead of starting out of turn four. Terry Merritt #5 of Slapout, AL started front row outside along side of Patrick Wallace #34 of Trussville, AL. Wallace swapped from Asphalt back in November of 2009 when he made his first appearance at CAMS. At the end of lap one, Wallace would find himself in the 2nd place spot. Changes would come on lap number two when Bobby Kendrick #41 of Wilsonville, AL moved up one position to take the 2nd place spot from Wallace. Merritt would lead the way through out the entire event with Kendrick and Wallace battling it out for the second place position. On lap number six, Barbara Bright #29 of Centerville, AL flipped her car on the front stretch in front of the Grandstands. Safety Personnel made quick response to inform officials that the driver was ok. This incident would take Bright out of the race. When the checked flag was in the air, Merritt would take home 1st place, Kendrick 2nd place, Wallace 3rd, Shawn Lawrence #19 of Alabaster, 4th and 5th to J. Mason of Slapout, AL.
Racing Actions returns to Central Alabama Motor Speedway off Hwy 22, just outside of Clanton on Saturday, April 10, 2010. Gates open at 5 PM.
