2010 Starts With A Blast
Clanton, AL (March 6, 2010) – The weather was perfect for the 2010 Season Opener at the newly re-opened Central Alabama Motor Speedway. Drivers and fans packed the facilities along with the smell of all the track concession stands favorite foods.
After the long anticipated Season Opener, each division had a good representation of cars. The feature race division of the night was the L&L Forklift Hobby Cars. Earlier in the afternoon the Hobby division had two heat races. Brad Underwood #7 of Clanton, AL won the first heat race to lock himself in the pole position for the feature event, the second heat race winner was Wade Carlee, #48 of McCalla, AL front row out side for the Feature Event. When the green flag came out at the start of the race, Carlee drove hard to maintain the first place position through out the entire event. From the start of the race, Underwood dropped back to the 3rd place position, moving Brandon Till #20, Clanton, AL to the second place position. Till would keep this position until lap nine. Stanley Roper, #14 of Maplesville, AL, worked his way to the 2nd place spot, from his original starting position of 3rd row inside. This event only would see one caution. When the Checkered Flag came out, this would leave Carlee with 1st place winnings, Roper 2nd place and Till 3rd place.
Racing action will continue each Saturday night at Central Alabama Motor Speedway through November. Truly a family atmosphere for the young and old to enjoy. The next race meet will be on Saturday, March 13, 2010. Gates open at 3:00 PM.
