I know there will be some who disagree, but I think there should be an open tire rule. Most people would probably like to buy whatever they can get from these latemodel guys for 20 or 30 each.
Unless something involves safety.Take the cheapest route. The less they have to spend to be able to run by your rules, The better chance of them running there and bringing along their fans.$$$ I'm Sure there are tracks out there that believe if they have there own tire it would force the drivers to only run there track. However, if I can get a set of good used tires for around 150... instead of 120 each new and can only run them at that track... I would take the used and run where there was no tire rule.
What do ya'll think?

How about making it d55 and d21 for all wide tire classes all the way around the car lots of cars run those compounds and they can be picked up used like taylor said . with the crate cars getting bigger every year it may be the only way to go just leave it as d21 or d55 no matter if its spec or crate so every one from the other tracks will be on your same page. jamie holt

leave it open.. alot of people around the LRS area has always run soft tires and they now have 20 or 30 tires that are just gonna sit up and dry rot because they only run LRS and they cant use them thats just an opinion. its fair for everyone because they have the choice of what tire to run and if they come on hard tires its their own fault... and they cant complain to the track officals about it being a rule on tires made by the track.
