$2000 TO WIN at MODOC Speedway August 14th
$100 Pole Award from Dunaway Racing Engines
“LIVE” on RaceCastLive.com at 7PM
Carnesville, GA (August 12th) Modoc Speedway welcomes the FASTRAK Southeastern Touring Series this Friday, August 14th, for a $2000 TO WIN event. All the Southern/Smokey Mts/Mid-East Region drivers are expected to be on hand as the FASTRAK Southeastern Tour only has a few events left.
Using the National event at Eldora as an optional event for the touring racers to replace their worst points finish in the FASTRAK Southeastern Touring Series standings, has shaken up the point’s race some.
David Smith is currently out front, but only 3 points in front of Lee Cooper, with Owen Osteen now in third, 7 points out of the lead. Smith and Lee both find themselves helped by the extra trip to Eldora, but everyone in the top-5, including Osteen, Royce Bray and Chris Steele, now know what they are up against.
Only two Southeastern Touring events are left to get points. Modoc Speedway this week could be a turning point for every one of the Regional Tour racers. Those in the hunt for an end of year money spot could see their hopes dashed or have an opportunity fall their way this weekend at Modoc, NC.
This weekend’s event will be broadcast “LIVE” on our RaceCastLive.com link, starting at 7PM. Please tune in if you cannot attend the event in person. FASTRAK will keep you advised on all the action on the track as well as a few interviews with drivers and information on upcoming events.
So fans as well as drivers will be entering this week’s FASTRAK Southeastern Touring event with great anticipation. Modoc Speedway will open their Pit Gate at 5PM, with the Grandstands following close behind at 5:30PM. Pit entry is $30, while a Grandstand ticket is still just $15.
Dunaway Racing Engines (DRE) has put up an extra $100 for the Pole Award, plus DRE will be giving away 6 hours of dyno time for some lucky drivers & teams. Details of the DRE Dyno Time Give-a-way will be given out at the track on race night.
Along with the super fast FASTRAK Southeastern Touring Series event, fans will see a “Powder Puff” race at the end of the night for the ladies. During intermission there will be the 1st ever Modoc Golf Cart Challenge. Golf carts must be electric powered and the winner of the 3 lap event gets $50 first place prize money. Plus, the Super Street, Stock V-8, Super Stock 4 and Extreme 4 classes will be in action. No Limited Sportsman (Hobby) class this week. Tech starts at 6PM, Drivers Meetings at 7:30 and Racing at 8PM.
In the event mother nature continues her assault on north Georgia and southern South Carolina this weekend, fans, teams and drivers will be notified as soon as possible through the Modoc Speedway and FASTRAK Racing Series web sites as to the race plans, but arrangements have been made to run next Friday night, August 21st if the weather does not cooperate this weekend.
