Hot – Sticky An Speed
Wilsonville, AL (June 20, 2009) – Randall Jones No. 84 of Wilsonville dominated the Road Hogg division. It
was a hot sticky night at the Shelby County Speedway facilities with grandstands packed. The feature
event was the Road Hogg division. For this event, Jones started on the front row outside and Chris Fowler
No. 26 of Sylacauga front row inside. When the green flag was waved in the air, it was strictly business for
Fowler and Jones. After the first lap was completed, Jones had taken the 1st place position from Fowler.
Jones would have to drive hard to defend the lead. Fowler would try numerous times to spin Jones out by
clipping his bumper. On lap nine, Fowler brought out the caution with a flat tire, sending him to the pits.
When the double checker flags came out after this 12-lap event. Jones would take home the 1st place
winnings and a large lead in the points, Troy Smith No. 5 of Vandiver 2nd Place and Doodle Parker No. 00 of
Vandiver 3rd Place.
Racing action returns to Shelby County Speedway on Saturday, June the 27. All divisions will be on hand.
Little Speeders will be racing bicycles with a $50.00 purse. Also there will be a special race for the Old
Timers. Gates open at 5:00 PM. Saturday night fun for the entire family!
