6-6-9

After several weeks of rain, Mother Nature put a damper on racing action once again at Swainsboro Raceway. Beginning with a sunny afternoon, a hard rain shower fell over the speedway just before starting hot laps. Once track officials scraped mood and the cars packed the track, there was only time for feature events.
In the Driggers Concrete Road Warrior division, Austin Scarboro jumped into the lead with Daniel Douglas moving into second. Lap five, making his first appearance in a brand new car, Matthew Beasley took over second. Battling a slick racetrack, Beasley lost control on lap eight. Taking over the second position was Lisa Caststeel and Trey Carter third. With three laps to go, Lisa Caststeel moved to the inside of Austin Scarboro attempting to take over the lead. Taking the low side in turn three, Caststeel spun. Austin Scarboro took the checkered flag with Trey Carter in second. Caststeel made her way back to third, Matthew Beasley fourth, and Josh Arrington fifth.
Terry Cox took the lead in the Love’s Seafood Mini Stock division with Nick Beasley riding in second. Lap four, Joey Schoen moved into the third position from starting seventh. Schoen took over second on lap eight. Five laps to go, Joey Schoen swept the lead away and picked up the win. Terry Cox finished second, Timmy Thompson third, Nick Beasley fourth, and Larry Sheppard fifth.
Rolling out in the Daniels Chevrolet Pure Stock division, Kary Alexander took the lead with Dustin Watkins in second. An unbelievable caution free race resulted in 9 cars out being lapped by first and second. Unstoppable, Kary Alexander picked up the win and Dustin Watkins in second, third Shannon Scott, Kyle Johnson fourth, and John Hooks fifth.
Benjie Donaldson took the lead in the Sunoco Super Street division with John Bratcher riding in second. Lap four, Garrett Thigpen took over second and Casey Smith moved into third. Benjie Donaldson rolled into Victory Lane, Garrett Thigpen second, Casey Smith third, John Bratcher fourth, and Luke Scott fifth.
Finishing out the night in the R & R Electrical Crate Late Model division, after qualifying Henry Carter held the pole position and Johnny Dale sat outside. Carter took the lead on lap one and as Dale spun in turn two Marvin Cook took over second. “Hurricane” Henry Carter grabbed another career win, Marvin Cook second, Ches Chester third, Tommy Hadden fourth, and Chaz Haskins fifth.
Don’t miss the Hottest Show in Town in Thursday, June 18 as the Lucas Oil Super Late Models Roll into town for $7000 to win. Last year over fifty famous dirt track drivers from all over the U.S. attended the event. Plus, the R & R Electrical Crate Late Models will be battling for $2500 to win.
