Jerry T. Chambers, age 71 of Carrollton died February 23, 2009. He was born March 28, 1937 in Carroll County, Georgia the son of the late Cora Holcombe Chambers and S.T. Chambers. Mr. Chambers was a member of Old Camp United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Bowdon High School and Southern Tech, served his country in the US Navy and was the owner of Kitchens International. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Allison Chambers and a sister, Patricia Chambers. Survivors include his wife, Mary Ruth Walker Chambers; son, David Chambers; daughters and sons in law, Peggy & Robert Smith, Donna Chambers, Pamela & Michael O’Rourke; grandchildren, Garret O’Rourke, Blake O’Rourke, Shena Chambers, Rebekah Smith and Adam Smith; sisters and brothers in law, Rebecca & Hansford Turner, Bonnelle Hendrix and Sylvia & Doug Kocour. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at 11 AM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Dr. Earle Goode officiating. Pallbearers will be Jon Smith, Charles Turner, Billy Turner, Mark Turner, Douglas Gray and Alan Gray. Interment will follow in Carroll Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 5 until 8 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Old Camp United Methodist Church, 77 Old Camp Church Rd., Carrollton, GA. 30117. Messages of condolences may be sent to the family at www.martin-hightower.com. Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel of Carrollton has charge of the arrangements.
