well i think the track should do drivers a favor and announce what they are gonna do so we can start preparing for the rules for the track in which we all can run, alot of drivers are wondering so why not post what your plans are instead of waiting? at least do us some kind of good

Where did the idea of the track changing the layout come from? i havent heard anything like that. as far as the racing goes there is alot of 3 wide racing at gvs last year, yeah turn two maybe tight but that is why it takes skill to make those kind of passes not just a lead foot. name one track that you can run 3 wide all of the way around it! they all have tricky spots that a driver has to adjust to. if you cant make the pass set them up for the next turn that you can. i think that GVS was the raciest ive ever seen it this past year and i was one of the people that had objected to the change. if dennis wants to change the track i trust that he knows what he is doing. and i may be wrong on this one but i cant remember a track that has raced on friday nights and got alot of cars. TMS did it a couple of years ago and went bankrupt. childersburg too.. 5racefan it does not matter what the track does you are not going to like it. you never do.

i also didnt like the change at Green Valley until i drove the track. As far as turn 2 being too tight i'm not sure about that because it sure was easier to get thru than turn 3 & 4 was. As long as you didnt get too high ( like i did the nite i got up on the wall and almost turned over) you could get a good run down the back straight if you set it up right. I made a last lap pass on Chris Hipp coming off of two on the high side to win one nite and i dont think you would have been able to do that the way the track was before. Before if you werent right on the bottom you werent going anywhere.
As far as Green Valley going to fri nites, i also cant see where it would be of any benefit. As others have said the car count isnt too bad and the TST or TMS cars arent going to try to race two nites a week. Back when Bill had the track he started out on fri's to try to give the guys from TST another place to race and maybe got one or two cars at the most that raced regularly at TST. The cars that have been going to TST and TMS will continue to go there the same as the cars who are regulars @ Green Valley will continue to come to Green Valley.
Also this is the only place i have seen or heard anything about the change to Fri nites so until Dennis or someone makes an announcement then as far as i'm concerned this is only a rumor.

This is where I have to disagree, you are sadly mistaken.

GVS will pick up enough two night racers from other tracks to make up for those regulars that dont show up on Friday nights. I dont think the night makes a difference. It might be harder to get to the track after work on Fridays but racers will find a way to race. There are some racers who will race two nights and there are alot of people that want to race karts at both TST and GVS. So again I think it is a good thing.

well if you read my topic on cheating part i said it come out of circle track!!!now wh win our share of races and everyone knows we have not cheated...the main problem i see is whoever is on the top side in the lead (AT LEAST IN THE HOBBY CLASS) will win the race unless you make a comcozie move that takes both of you out and if both of you have good cars with good stuff in them as us and the 55 unless one of the drivers bobble then its impossible to pass becuase its a momentum track, this may not be the situation in every class but you must remember we are talking about a 3000lb car i think if they would build the bottom up some it would help out tremendously!!! i love gvs and wish they could get that track as good as tss becuase tss is the only track i enjoy going and watching a race (alot of folks would agree) but im a greenvalley fan to the bone and want it to succed beyond tss which may mean making changes! i just recently heard that preacher from tss is the one telling dennis to go to friday night racing, that guy would love for gv to go under!!!!!! so i hope dennis keeps it as is and lets have a fun year of racing

i agree with shorty, 5racefan wont be satisfied even if they gave out gold bricks at the gate. if they wanna make it smaller i say let em,small tracks are more fun anyway. go to moulton or river valley(when it was open), lots better racin than gvs and tss put together

i for one hope gvs stays on sat nights im starting to drive back over the road and dont see any way of being there on fridays if gvs goes to fri night then they lose not just our 2 cars but many more cause a lot of people have to work friday nights

ok so you and shorty are not reading the post its not that im not happy with anything i just dont want the changes to be given out at the last minute (if you will read my previous post) no matter what we will race either at gv or fpms, we would rather run gvs but friday nights will be impossible, so that will be two cars (fixen to be 3) that will be at fpms rather than gvs and the many people we bring with us in the stands, im only putting my wishes that gvs would do

5racefan i re read all of your post and i had to realize something. what car do you drive? have you ever sat behind the wheel on GVS? you complained about turn two being too tight. how do you know? me personally ive seen alot of two and three wide racing at GVS all over the track. you stated that it is impossible to pass on the low side of turn two in a hobby car. ive seen several people pass on the bottom of that corner even in the hobby class. there is several ways to make a pass that you do not know of. blake hood did it. jerry barron did it. the 55 did it. josh starnes did it. just to name a couple. if you want to pass on the bottom of a corner you consider tight you have to do one of two things. enter the corner different or change your car setup. i however agree with you that if a change was to be made the drivers should be aware but lets face it its january and if dennis was going to change the track he would have at least started it by now. so i seriously doubt that will happen.

well once again read my post and I'm talking about HOBBY cars only not SUPER , YES starnes could do it because those guys are allowed to run more motor but it is impossible to run 3 wide all the way around gvs in the hobby class (unless the guy on the bottom has a big engine!!!!! and yes i have raced on gv just to answer your question, as for the 55 doing it i can guarantee you he never pulled off a 3 wide pass out of turn two ( i was at every race), now I'm not saying passing lap traffic I'm saying actually racing a competitive car and running 3 wide and making a pass on two other competitive cars, (the 55 may have in turn 3 before they caught him running adjustable brakes) but you just lose way to much momentum!!!!! and for the Barron car once again he might have been going around some slower traffic because I'm not to proud to say it would be impossible for our car to complete a pass off of turn two in the bottom with cars as the 55 or beam running door to door. I have been around dirt racing hobby cars for the last 8 to 9 years, I'm not stupid and i have been at every race this past season and i can guarantee hood has not done it either (not against two other competitive cars), it is a fact that turn two is way to tight, ya ll are the only guys that seem to think different but i bet ya ll have been in the seat of a car and know it all, i wouldn't be saying what I'm saying if other drivers hadn't agreed!!! so stop the "bsing" and lets try to make gv a better more racier track with good feed back
