FASTRAK Introduces National Weekly Championships for ALL classes in 2009!
Carnesville, GA (Dec-23) The FASTRAK Racing Series Weekly Racing Division now has NATIONAL WEEKLY CHAMPIONSHIPS for any class in 2009. 4 cylinders, Enduro, Street Stocks, Front Wheel Drive, Modifieds (big block, small block, open wheel), Sprint Cars, “crate” Late Model, Limited Late Models and Super Late Models will all have the opportunity to participate in anywhere from a $3000 NATIONAL WEEKLY CHAMPIONSHIP for 4 cylinders all the way to $10,000 TO WIN for Super Late Models.
ALL WEEKLY CLASSES WILL BE HANDLED THROUGH THE CORPORATE OFFI CE. (678) 935-7304
Super Late Models (includes Limited late models): $10,000 to win
“Crate” Late Models: $10,000 to win
Sprint Cars (Winged and non winged) $5000 to win
Modifieds (Open wheel mod, big block mod, small block mod) $4000 to win
V-8 steel body (includes street stock, super stock, endure, etc) $3000 to win
4 cylinders (includes stock 4, advanced 4, mod 4, etc) $3000 to win
Front Wheel Drive (includes U-Car, Hornets, etc.)$3000 to win
“We have had a tremendous amount of calls in the last three years from other classes” stated FASTRAK Founder Stan Lester. “Amazingly enough, the majority of the calls this year have been from chassis builders and Super Late Model teams. The question is “when are you going to do something with the supers”? Well, now that begins” said Lester. “We start with a very simply designed NATIONAL WEEKLY CHAMPIONSHIP. Same plan we did with the crate late models. There will be no rules for this class. They use their track rules therefore no one has to change anything. That is except tires. Goodyear is the company that has supported FASTRAK since 2004.
So to run for 100% of posted point fund amounts, the track has to use the Goodyear tire for that class. However, unlike most series that I know of, FASTRAK does not mandate the Goodyear only tire rule. You can use other tires; you are just running for 50% of the posted amounts if you do so. It’s the same deal we use in the crate class” said Lester. “From the feedback we get, everyone understands that. What’s fair is fair and most race teams have no problem with that. $5000 to win instead of $10,000 is still a pretty good payday for teams that run weekly tracks every week. Some people just can’t afford to travel” said Lester. “This is a way for those teams to also have something on a NATIONAL scale to race for. They come across the stage at our annual National Awards Banquet in Nashville TN, no different than the other teams and classes in the country. I really think with the down turn of the economy this is a great way for tracks to go”.
“We only posted this a week ago” said Michael Hurley, PR Director of FASTRAK. “The phones have not stopped ringing. We have been working until 9:00 almost every night. The response has been amazing. Of course our crate Late Model Series has been the strongest for us, but I can really foresee some of the other classes gaining popularity very quickly. For instance 4 cylinder teams have been driving the track owners crazy or that’s what the track owners are telling us anyway. The system worked great in 08 for the FASTRAK “crate” Late Model Series. There is simply no reason it won’t work in other classes as well”.
