“David Hare Memorial”
"Top Guns"
FINALS RESCHEDULED
TO THIS SUNDAY OCTOBER 19TH
Because of wet track conditions, rain and the radar showing additional rain was coming it was decided to call off the Features and Top Gun Championship Dashes on Sunday October 12th. "We originally promised the Drivers and Fans we would have them out of the track by 10:30 on Sunday Night and when it became apparent that that would not be possible, I felt it necessary to stop without further delay. I appoligize for having to do so but, again it appeared on all counts that the weather forecast showed that if we indeed were ever able to start, it would be late and we might have to stop in the middle of the program."
They have been reschedule for this coming Sunday October 19th
Wristbands will be honored for the Oct 12th rainout this Sunday the 19th, or on the next race event of either November 21st or 22nd. For those that cannot make any of these dates, if you will mail your entire wristband to Green Valley Speedway % Dennis M. Harker at 3085 Bridgepoint Rd. Southside, Al. 35907, along with your return address, we will mail you a pass for a regular season event of your choice in 2009.

Sounds to me like you made the right choice on event nite and the rainout pass is a classy move too.

This is rediculous! Why not run it on saturday? And if you JUST have to run it on sunday, you NEED to start earlier! I would be on the track no later then 2 o'clock. People have to work on monday and have long drives after the race. How could starting at 2 hurt anybody?! Please move it up!!

People have to work on monday and have long drives after the race. How could starting at 2 hurt anybody?! Please move it up!! I agree Sunday isn't the best choice to race and probably part of the reason for the low car count but Saturday isn't an option because TST is racing and if they would start at 2 they may as well just send the checks out now because there would be no passing at all. Day races are terrible no matter who has them. They are making the best choice with what he has available. If you have a rain check you can always send it back for a ticket to a race next season. That isn't something many or maybe any tracks do. Dennis is trying to look at both sides. The race at TST is the rain out show and if you can't go then you lose your money just like at most tracks. The race rained on a Sunday so it only makes sense to race it on a Sunday.
