I went by the racetrack today, Marvin and his son were there. They are planning on being there everyday as much as possible. From what i see he has a vision and if he can get it done it will be the nicest facilty i have seen in a while. Not only for racers but also for the fans. he is planning on shifting the racetrack, from its normal layout so it will be a more level surface instead of the up hill downhill. Making an exit off the racetrack in turn 3 and an entrance off turn 4. He is also putting a lineup road infront of the grandstands for heats and qualifying so that the fans can see the fans up close. no parking in the pits, they will be on the outside of turn 4. Scales and lights will also be outside of turns 3 and 4. He has plans on fixing the fans parking lot with drain pipes at the road so it will be easier to get in and out. He also plans future parking around the top of the back stretch. HIs plans are to start racing in the middle of april. They did get the phones hooked up today the number is 256-623-7223. Im telling you if he can get everything done that he has planned it will be a nice nice facility. Go Marvin, and bring on Fort Payne Motor Speedway!!!

Rome only races a few times a year! Why even worry about that?

Think about it....if Sunday nites was the way to go for local race tracks then all of them would do it. Rome knows they cant "pack the house" every time they run unless its a holiday weekend or a huge race payout for some division.
A routine race nite every Sunday up there would be a bust. Do you really think it wouldnt ? Tell me why please

I just live walking distance from the race track, I ride by there everyday on my way to school and they have been there everyday by usually 7:30 or 8:00 working up to around dusk. Marvin and his guys have already done so much to the place. They are going as far as redoing the plumbing so we can have a flushable toilet. HAHA. I am so glad to know that not only is the mountain coming back but it is going to be an awsome place to race. I think with the potentions Marvin has, in the end the track I think will be as nice as the Valley.
