I would like to respond to the folks that don't like paying $5.00 more in the pits than they do at Talledega when we have a special shows at Green Valley.
I really shouldn't have to go further than to quote directly from 54fan and her post above " Pretty much GAS is too high and you pay more". We pay more when you only pay $25.00 for a pit pass too ! So what is so hard to figure out, it is simple math if you pay more out for a special show you have to bring more in. Yet I get no complaints when we pay more out every week and yet you pay only a $25.00 pit pass. Yet we keep pouring more dollars into Green Valley to improve it everyday, I don't see a lot of money going into other tracks.
Maybe my competition was right when they tell me I am stupid and have spoiled everyone by paying too much in my purses. Just go look at the crate races for example (last week) Green Valley paid eight hundred to win, I'll bet the other tracks in the area didn't pay anywhere near that. I could save $3,000 to $4,000 dollars a night (every night) by lowering the purses and would make a lot more money for myself and would only have to charge $25.00 in the pits every week.
I'LL BET THE DRIVERS WOULD BE VERY UNHAPPY IF I LOWERED THE PURSE, JUST SO I WOULDN'T CHARGE AN EXTRA $ 5.00 FOR SPECIAL SHOWS. WELL I AM NOT LOWERING MY PURSES OR CHANGING MY PIT PRICES. AGAIN to quote 54fan, WITH A FEW MODIFIGATIONS "Its part of life and part of ownership (Mdification/ RACING TEAM). We are just another poor racing team (modification/OWNER) & all we want to do is race and have fun."
I have traveled to other tracks when GVS is not running and they charge $30 to $35 in the pits for any type of special race and $15 to $20.00 in the grandstands and yet I never hear a complaint form anyone about that and the stands have a lot more folks in them. I seen not one complaint on the internet about Fort Payne Motor Speedway on Friday night charging $12.00 (for a regular show lasting only two hours and with only 33 cars in it) at Green Valley we charges $10.00 on a regular show. I understand that is their business (Fort Payne Motor Speedway) and I am not being critical of how they run their program, I am merely pointing out that if Green Valley did that or raised our regular show prices to $12.00 we would get blasted on this website for doing so. But, again I hear not one word when someone else does it. I personally went to Fort Payne on their opening night and found it enjoyable!
I might make one suggestion, quit all the nit picking about everything that Green Valley does and I pledge to get the races done one time and have a good track to race on. Maybe if we both do our part more fans will come and we won't have to worry about $5.00 special races prices anymore. If I were a fan and read all the garbage about Green Valley on the internet I might not come either. So you are working against what you are trying to accomplish.
Finally I think your final comment of (again quoting 54fan)
"PS - Im so glad you solved one issue that has been brought to attention, thank you." This is very unfair as you make it sound like I never listen to anyones suggestions or solve any problems that occur and you if anyone should know that is not true. I have tried to respond to you without you taking any of this personal, but with the attitude that comes forth from your posts, I am probably spinning my wheels! Best Regards
GVS
I wouldn't know I didn't go to Fort Payne. But I am spinning my wheels & so is everyone else including you, so I won't be putting my opinion of Green Valleys "management" I will simply comment on whatever else I want to because after all, I do have freedom of speech, and as you can tell I do not care if someone likes what I say or not, or likes me for that matter. I'm done
