Posted on 4M and MRM that Boyd's has been purchased by Richard and Robert Harvey who own S&H Erectors in Hixson. According to the posts they have already started making improvments to the facility and hope to be ready by the first of April. From what I can gather one of the two partners that had Boyd's wanted to keep it, but got the bad end of the deal. We were treated great by the previous owners last year and I personally want to thank them for bringing Boyd's back to life. I want to extend a special thanks to Russ and track announcer Steve Milling. We wish Russ and George the best in whatever they do. Tim Totherow t39racer

I have been told they will probley/hopefully start in mid April as they are renovating everything. I heard it's gonna be real nice but don't like the idea of a wall all the way around the track. We will hopefully see it soon. I am gonna stop by saturday to see what they have or are doing.

From 4m.net
Boyd's: More "Official Word"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Boyd’s Speedway, Ringgold GA. (3/18/08) This is Steve Milling, your Boyd’s Speedway Track Announcer with more “Official Word” concerning Boyd’s.
First a construction update: Progress continues on the new concrete walls. The walls now stretch from the track exit at turn one to nearly the end of the back straight. Shiny new fencing is up all over the place with more to come. The scale house is complete and awaiting the arrival of the newly refurbished scales. A walkway is being built at the bottom of the existing grandstand and construction of grandstand extensions on either side of the existing ones with five additional rows will begin as soon as we receive the engineer’s approval. The control tower/concession stand/restroom building is completely dried-in and awaiting the electrical contractor. A source of clean clay has been identified and the first of an estimated 250 loads will soon begin to be applied to form the new racing surface. The new scoreboard has been ordered and will be up soon. Bids have been submitted and are being considered for a new state-of-the-art P.A. system. Did I miss anything? Probably!
In other news, the current website and domain name is being transferred to the new owners this week. Once that is complete, we will begin putting information and photos up as soon as I learn how! Until then, thank you for your patience.
Now for the rules package: Believe me when I tell you it is coming and coming soon. I know there has been an enormous amount of concern and speculation; all of that should come to an end hopefully by the first of next week. In the meantime, please know that if you don’t hear it from here (meaning me), it ain’t necessarily so.
Thanks again for all the support and encouragement. The new management at Boyds is doing everything it can to turn the old girl into a facility we all will be proud of, and I for one am honored to be a part of it.

I was in Chattanooga today. So I went by the track to take a look.. IT LOOKS GREAT!!!! I havn't been there but a few times in the past. But it was just a regular dirt track to me. They are turning it into a state of the art track. I know they are putting ALOT of time and money into it. IT WILL PAY OFF...... Keep up the GREAT work...
