SUICIDE CIRCLE was where the airport is located now in Albany it didnt run very long .That track ran in the 50 s and early 60s .Another Albany track a 1/2 mile was built on SPRING FLAT RD inth early 60s .It opened and closed several times over the span of 60s to the early 80,s Charlie Burnham ran it in the mid 70s to early 80s at which time was drawing the likes of Roscoe Smith,Jack Evans,Buddy Boutwell,Billy Clanton,Mike Head along with many other top notch drivers It closed in 1984 due to the conflicts of a newer better track built in Cordele Ga .Cordele which is now asphalt has really left us Albany drivers who prefer dirt pulling almost a 100 miles or more to race .If someone would like to come to SOUTH GA and build a dirt track I am sure we all would be glad to help .We now have a asphalt track in Albany they call a race track but it is so small the legend cars dont like it .
