Rodney Melvin competed in the special $2,000 to win show at Farmer City Raceway on Friday night. Rodney decided to go out on his own about two weeks ago to form his own team - RMR (Rodney Melvin Racing). Rodney has always competed in a Rayburn Chassis. Rodney does not yet have his new Rayburn chassis ready for competition, and he was offered a ride in a Mastersbilt car owned by Rylan Dagg of Bluford, Illinois. Rodney ran an amazing race - qualified 12th out of 39 cars (went out 20th in the qualifying order), started 3rd in hist heat race and finished 2nd, then started 8th in the feature and finished 3rd.
Congratulations to Rodney on a solid run in his first ever competition in a Mastersbilt race car. This may be the beginning of a relationship between Rodney and Mastersbilt???
