With price of gas going to over three dollars per gallon I believe tracks are going to have to go to a bi weekly show for 2006 .Cars and fans travel on a avearge of one hour one way .I may be wrong but you wont see a consistent crowd as you have in years past .I noticed on weeks after a rain out the car counts and fans are always more this should send a message to the tracks. There are racers and fans that go every week no matter the cost to a family 40.00 to go it is now almost 75.00 thats hard to just put down for one nite for a lot of people and for the racer as little as 150.00 which hits hard when you have a bad night. You arent in it for the money but when it gets to the costs that it is headed something has to give so as suggested this could keep our heads above water til this gas thing gets better .I am glad it is the seasons end because certainly think it is going to take its toll next year .

I agree. This gas is ridiculous but I dont think it will be the same all year 2006. But your right, most drivers arent in it for the money, but it sure does cost just to enter and run, then fix things that get broke!

I think it will hurt the traveling series more than local tracks. The tracks could help by droping the price a $1.00. Gas today in Hartselle, AL is $2.26.
