TOP TRACKS SOUTHEASTERN LATE MODEL CHAMPIONSHIP TO BE DECIDED AT DIXIE SPEEDWAY NOVEMBER 11TH & 12TH IN THE FINAL RACES OF THE SEASON
Woodstock, GA (November 7, 2005) – Dixie Speedway officials are gearing up for one of the highlight shows of the 2005 racing season this weekend as the 1st Annual Carl Black Buick Pontiac GMC Top Tracks Southern Championship rolls into the 3/8 mile facility with a big $4,000 to win on the line. It will be the final scheduled event of the season at the track.
The sixth and final leg in the Top Tracks Southeastern Championship Series will be decided this weekend, as 131 drivers have competed over the course of the previous five races.
Top Tracks races leading up to the finale at Dixie have been at Cleveland (TN), Cherokee (SC), Talladega (AL), Oglethorpe (GA), and Lowes (NC) Motor Speedway.
Heading into this weekend’s finale at Dixie, Don Jenkins of Kingston, GA currently sits on top of the points standings by seventy-eight points.
Second through sixth in the points are separated by only 113 points and positions could easily shuffle after the Top Tracks Finale.
Jay Sessoms currently holds the second position over Owen Osteen who is third. Fourth position is currently held by Mike Huey with Marty Reid fifth and Philip Seifert sixth. Top Tracks will be paying a $6,000 points fund out to the Top 6 drivers in points immediately following the race. The points champion will receive $2,000, second pays $1000, 3rd pays $900, 4th $800, 5th $700 and 6th $600.
The $4,000 to win top prize money offered by Dixie Speedway is drawing interest by not only Crate Late Model drivers but from Super Late Model drivers as well.
Super Late Model drivers expected to try there hand in a crate engine car this weekend include 2005 Dixie Track Champion Tim Day, 2004 Track Champion Frank Ingram, former Track Champion Phil Coltrane and former Dirt Track World Champion Marshall Green as well as a host of others.
Over seventy drivers from six states are expected to compete this weekend.
“The Top Tracks program has accomplished everything we had hoped for,” stated Top Track Coordinator Mike Swims. “All the races have had good car counts and great competition, the Series has created a lot of exposure for “Crate Engine Racing” and we are looking forward to a big weekend on November 11th & 12th.”
Besides the $4,000 top prize offered this weekend, Carl Black will be giving away a FREE crate engine (choice of #602 or #604) to some lucky driver through a random drawing on Saturday during the drivers meeting. In order to be eligible for the drawing a driver must have purchased a crate engine from Carl Black in 2005.
In addition to the Top Tracks Late Models, Dixie will also be hosting championship races for Econo Bombers, Super Bombers, and Cruisers.

Top Tracks Tech Procedure
Pre-Race - All Cars must pass through pre race inspection, pay entry fee, provide tax info, and draw for qualifying order starting at 3 PM. This must be done prior to hot laps at 6 PM.
Post Race - Winner is required to pull engine out of car. Intake, one cylinder head, oil pan, and timing cover must be removed for complete engine inspection.
Through a draw 2nd or 3rd will be required to pull engine and remove 1 cylinder head. Certified Engine Builder will reinstall cylinder head and seal engine for the 2nd or 3rd place car at no charge.
