The "King of the 4 Cylinders" race Sunday night at Rome Speedway was won by Brice Lovitt from Rome. There couldn't have been a better person to win this title. Anyone who races 4 cylinders from the Rome area knows Brice and in most cases have either gotten help or advice at one time or another from him. At Sunday nights race out of the 20 cars there Brice has worked on or helped at least 7 or 8 of the cars at some point in time. The 1st and 3rd place cars were built by Brice and he has helped the 2nd place driver-Guy Bannister-quite a bit this season.
Brice was also presented his trophy for winning the 2005 points for Dixie/Rome Speedways. After racing for over 25 years this is the 1st ever championship for Brice. Brice helped me win a championship in 1999 at Green Valley Speedway and a 2nd place in points at Thunder Mtn Speedway in 1997 so i was more than happy to help him win this championship by letting him drive my car.
Great Job Brice you sure deserve the title "King of the 4 Cylinders" ;D

Brice had a heckuva run Sunday night! It was a pretty clean race overall, very few yellows, so those last few laps were some of the fastest I've ever run!
Congratulations, Brice!
Now, go email Mike Swims at Dixie ... let's get him to pick the ponies up full time next season!

congrats to brice he has been looking forward to a championship for quite a few years. I am glad everyone could be there to witness him being crown king of four cylinders because he truly is the king in pony stock. he has helped more people in racing than any one man has in any class. he has built cars for all classes, and with the good lord willing hope he builds alot more.
