FORMER LUCAS OIL DIXIE SHOOTOUT WINNERS ELIGIBLE FOR $50,000 PAYDAY AT DIXIE SPEEDWAY ON OCTOBER 7-8 FOR 16TH ANNUAL EVENT
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: WOODSTOCK, GA - Nine former active winners will be eligible for a possible $50,000 payday at the 16th Annual Lucas Oil Dixie Shootout at Dixie Speedway on October 7-8 featuring the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. The event will feature a pair of 50-lap $10,000-to-win main events with an additional $30,000 in bonuses available to former active race winners.
Drivers that have never won the Lucas Oil Dixie Shootout in the past will also be eligible for $20,000 in bonus cash that could give them a possible $40,000 payday.
Dixie Speedway will host the 50-lap $10,000-to-win Jimmy Mosteller Classic presented by Lucas Oil on Friday night, October 7. The race format will consist of time trials to determine the heat race line-ups. Heat Races and B-mains will determine the starting field for the feature race. Mosteller will also be hosting a special meet and greet sessions for fans arriving early from 6 PM – 7 PM. In addition Dixie’s own Econo Bombers and Cruisers will fill out the evening.
The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series machines will return to Dixie Speedway on Saturday night, October 8 for the 50-lap, $10,000-to-win 16th Annual Lucas Oil Dixie Shootout. No time trials will be run, as drivers will determine their heat race starting positions by the draw, and the heat races and B-mains will determine the feature race line-up. Dixie Speedway’s ultra competitive Super Bomber and Limited Late Model classes will also be on the card.
For the October 8 main event, the highest finishing driver that competed in the Jimmy Mosteller Classic on October 7 will receive a $10,000 bonus. If the Jimmy Mosteller Classic winner doubles-up and wins the Lucas Oil Dixie
Shootout, there will be and additional $10,000 bonus for a $40,000 winner's share. If the driver doubling up is a former Shootout winner, add another $10,000 for a weekend payday of $50,000. Nearly $150,000 in posted awards is up for grabs.
Former active Lucas Oil Dixie Shootout winners eligible for the $50,000 prize are three-time winner Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN, two-time winner Dale McDowell of Rossville, GA, Bill Frye of Greenbrier, AR, Wendell Wallace of Batesville, AR, Billy Moyer of Batesville, AR, Tim Hitt of Weston, WV, Chub Frank of Sugar Grove, PA, Don O'Neal of Martinsville, IN, and defending champion Shannon Babb of Decatur, IL.
Advance reserved seats are available and can be charged by phone with Visa or Mastercard at 770-926-5315 9 AM - 4 PM daily. Tickets purchased in advance will be held at will call. General Admission tickets are available at the gate. Friday adults are $20 and ages 9 – 17 are $10, with 8 years and under free with paying adult. On Saturday adults in grandstands are $25, ages 9 – 17 are $10, and kids 8 and under are free with paying adult. Trackside parking is $25 per person on Friday and $30 per person on Saturday with 11 years and under $10 each night. Pit passes are $30 on Friday and $35 on Saturday or $60 for a 2-day pit pass. Pit privilege for kids 11 and under are $15 per day or $25 for a 2 day pass. RV/ Camper parking is $25 per day.
