Fireworks in the Sky and on the Track at Dixie and Rome Speedway this Saturday and Sunday Night
Woodstock, GA. Race fans can count on a full weekend of high octane fun during Dixie and Rome Speedways stock car racing double header this Saturday and Sunday night, June 28 & 29.
It all kicks off Saturday night, June 28 at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia with a full stock car racing program along with a Big Demolition Derby paying $1000 to win and a gigantic fireworks display. The Super Late Models, Limited Late Models, Sportsman, Econo Bomber, Super Bombers, Cruisers and Pony Stocks will all be competing in the stock car racing portion of the program. The fireworks will take place during intermission shortly after dark. The Demolition Derby is scheduled to be the final event of the evening. The Kidz Zone will be open from 5 – 7:30 with a live DJ, free moonwalk, games and activities for children.
NASCAR Superstar Bill Elliott plans to be in attendance to support John King, a member of his Driver Development Team. King is slated to compete in the Super Late Model event. Elliott may participate pending repair to the motor of his Bill Elliott 50 dirt Late Model car. The Bill Elliott 50 is set for October 25, 2008 featuring a fifty-lap Super Late Model Championship.
Admission prices are as follows for Saturday night, June 28: Adult grandstand only $14, ages 9 – 17 are $6 each, and kids 8 years old and under are free with paying adult. Race fans can save $2 on adult grandstand admission by presenting a Coca Cola bottle cap at the ticket window. Trackside admission is $18 for adults and $11 for kids. Pit Passes are $23 per adult and $11 for child privilege.
Then on Sunday night, June 29 action moves to Rome Speedway in Rome, Georgia where fans will be treated to double Late Model features with the Super Late Models and the Carl Black Top Tracks Challenge Series Late Models. Each Late Model event will consist of a thirty-lap feature paying $1500 to win.
Current Top Tracks Challenge Series point leader Todd Morrow won the last race at Rome topping a field of forty-one entrants make on Memorial weekend. Blake Stewart currently sits in the second spot in points just twenty-points behind Morrow. Allan Brewer is currently third with the pair of John Owenby and Bobby Mayse tied for the fourth spot. All five drivers are separated by a mere thirty-two points heading into this weekend’s races.
In addition to the Late Models, Rome Speedway will also host a full stock car racing program with Limited Late Models, Econo Bombers, Super Bombers, Pony Stocks, and Cruisers along with another huge fireworks display. South 107 radio will be broadcasting live at the track from 5 – 7 PM. Jumping Jeremy’s Moonwalks will be on hand free for children prior to the first race.
