This past weekend they had a big gathering over there.I cant even begin to remember what all they had goin on.i want to say a car show, racing parts auction if you had any you wanted to part with, beauty pageant.then when the racing begin saturday afternoon there was to be a big 100 lap enduro/road warrior race.A freind and I bought a car a little while back and we,ve been running in that class when we could between having the usual dificulties with getting a car race ready I guess you can say.they started practice i think it was as scheduled.but halfway thru the practice sessions it rained us out and we hadta return sunday to complete the racing half of saturdays events.I cant really remember who all finished in which class but i know the enduro race was certainly something to be dealt with from personal exsperience, lol.the class started out with about 25 cars i think it was.i was starting in the 6th row inside.it was set to be a no caution race but a few critical exceptions were made.we were to run 50 laps and then the top 4 or 5 cars were to change 1 tire and fuel up if needed.from the green flag it was something fierce crazy cars on every parta the track imaginable, lol.i fell back to around 15th and started trying to make my way back for but about 20 or 25 laps into it the car started running hot and steaming out of the overflow hose.i caught a break and they had a caution so i run into the pits on that one and got everything checked and shot back out to jump back just in time to go green again and made it all the way up to about lap 50 and went in once more topped the radiator off and went back out and luckily enough ran the last half of it with the car running between a temp of 220 and 240 to finish in 6th.i never knew how rough driving a car without power steering until i tried a 100 lap race, lol.needless to say but the next morning i payed for it dearly with both of my shoulders aching like id held something in a massive bearhug for a long long time.i will say this though i wouldnt trade that adrenaline rush and them aching shoulders for nothing in the world, lmao.
