Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Action from Dixie Speedway on SPEED This Saturday, March 3rd
LEXINGTON, KY (March 1, 2007)-The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series returns to SPEED Channel this Saturday, March 3rd with racing action from Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, GA. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event will air at 7:30 PM Eastern/6:30 PM Central. The Lucas Oil "Dixie Shootout" from Dixie Speedway will be the 10th race track to be on SPEED Channel this winter joining East Bay (FL) Raceway Park, Florence (KY) Speedway, Cedar Lake (WI) Speedway, Columbus (MS) Speedway, Knoxville (IA) Speedway, Lucas Oil (MO) Speedway, La Salle (IL) Speedway, Tri-City (IL) Speedway and Brownstown (IN) Speedway. The event from Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway in Calvert City, KY will air on March 10th.
The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series telecasts on SPEED feature in-depth driver profiles, exciting in-car camera footage and wheel-to-wheel action from the 2006 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series in which Earl Pearson, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL claimed his second consecutive points championship. The coverage of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series on SPEED is a great opportunity for race teams, promoters and sponsors to reach new fans across the country.
SPEED, which celebrated its 10th Anniversary in 2006, is the nation's first and foremost cable network dedicated to motorsports and the passion for everything from racing to restoration, motorcycles to movies, SPEED delivers quality programming from the track to the garage. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series just completed a very successful East Bay Winternationals with six straight nights of racing. There were six different winners in six nights of racing with Rick Aukland of Zanesville, OH, Earl Pearson, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL, Tim Dohm of Cross Lanes, WV, Shannon Babb of Moweaqua, IL, Steve Shaver of Vienna, WV and Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN winning events during the 31st Annual Winternationals at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, FL. Dan Schlieper of Sullivan, WI was the 2007 DART Machinery East Bay Winternationals Points Champion.
Terry English of Benton, KY currently leads the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Championship Points Standings heading into the next event on Saturday, March 31st at the Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, IN. The "Indiana Icebreaker" will pay $10,000 to win. Earl Pearson, Jr. the two-time and defending Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series National Champion won this event in '06.
